ABOUT THE PROJECT
Starting in August 2023, Granger-Hunter Improvement District will be replacing approximately 16,000 feet of aging waterlines which include mainlines along both sides of Redwood Road from 4100 South to 3100 South and Valley Fair Mall water laterals. This project will increase system resiliency, reduce traffic impacts due to waterline breaks, and improve reliability of service to the community. The work also includes increasing sewer capacity on Redwood Road by upsizing approximately 1,000 feet of existing sewer from 4100 S. to approximately 3930 S. Construction will span two construction seasons with completion anticipated to occur in fall 2024.
Construction of the waterline component of the Redwood Road Project is financed by the Division of Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The DWSRF program is administered by the Utah Division of Drinking Water with joint funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and State of Utah.
This project will help the Granger-Hunter Improvement District fulfill its mission statement to deliver clean and safe water for daily use for community residents and businesses in and near West Valley City. DWSRF programs operate around the country to provide states and communities the resources necessary to maintain and improve the infrastructure that protects our valuable water resources nationwide.
